Installing Java 1.4.2 and/or Java 1.5 on snow Leopard. Improvements to the security and compatibility of Java on Mac OS X 10.5.6 and later. I found out it's a bug introduced in Java 1.6.016 and fixed only on 1.6.018. So we Apple users need to wait for an update from them. Jun 15, 2009 Java for Mac OS X 10.4, Release 9.
- Java Release 9 OS X 10.4.11 Combo Update. Mac OS X Panther 10.3. Commercially available in 2003, Panther had an all new Finder that made the OS much.
- At first I thought this was 'Java 6', but it's not. As you see from the release notes shown below it really updates either Java 5 or Java 1.4: 'Java for Mac OS X 10.4, Release 6 delivers improved reliability and compatibility for Java 2 Platform Standard Edition 5.0 and Java 1.4 on Mac OS X 10.4.10 and later.
- ITS will no longer provide support for Mac OS X version 10.4 (Tiger) and 10.5 (Leopard). Version 10.4 was released in 2005 and 10.5 was released in 2007. Apple no longer provides security updates for these systems. It is against University policy for ITS to support an unsecure operating system.

- MIDlet application Mobile GMaps created by Cristian Streng will connect to GPS receiver over bluetooth. »Start now.
BlueCove provides an implementation of the JSR 82. Applications should use API defined in JSR-82. You may find many examples on the internet describing the usage of JSR 82.
We created short (50 lines of code each) examples for you to get started with JSR-82 application development:
Legal
BlueCove is licensed under Apache License, Version 2.0. The license allows linking and distributing commercial software with BlueCove.
BlueCove BlueZ module is licensed under GNU General Public License.
For various technical and legal reasons, BlueCove library is not legally referred to as an implementation of JSR-82. In order to legally refer to a piece of software as a JSR, it must pass the JSR-82 TCK or Sun TCK. Current BlueCove JSR-82 TCK compatibility status can be found here. Mainly there are some missing APIs in native stacks to implement full TCK compatibility.
